Another mediocre night of Cardinals Baseball...

I tend to make it out to watch the St. Louis sports teams at least once or twice a year. It largely tends to be for one of two reasons - a Los Angeles team is in town or it’s Hello Kitty Night.

We already caught the former this year with the Los Angeles Dodgers, so this time was the latter. Naturally, we invited our Japan cohorts and Kitty compadres (Alex and Grace) along for this one.

The night was started with a lot of shuffling around. The giveaway was at the very top of the stadium, where they usually conduct the themed giveaways. Then we decided to eat some of Busch Stadium’s usual grub. I’m always a fan of the bacon wrapped hotdog that you can find on the 100s level concourse. This was also conveniently (inconveniently?) the same level where the Bar2K Pop Up area was. Which was a fun little throwback for millennials such as ourselves. As such, we hiked all the way back to chow down, grab drinks, and take photos before heading back up to snagg our seats in the 200s.

From there, it didn’t take long for the game to get out of hand. Pallante tossed a meatball 2-run homerun in the first inning, and several more plays ended up leaving the team down 8-2 by the end of the 4th inning. Unfortunately things slowed up from there and the damage was done for the continuing decline of the Card’s late season play.

Oh well, maybe one day the team will be relevant again. But it hasn’t been honestly good for any of the teams I’ve followed for the last 5 or so years. Rebuilds, ownership struggles, etc.

Meh. Free stuff is always great though. Now to keep my eye out for the next Hello Kitty Night with the St. Louis Blues…
